The 20 May Budget, is the focus of the prestigious 'Mood of the Boardroom Report 2010' launched at the Stamford Plaza in Auckland today. Business leaders from the Top 200 list, including Simpson Grierson Chairman Kevin Jaffe, were surveyed by the New Zealand Herald on whether this year's budget will help create the 'step change' New Zealand needs.

Critical issues covered by the survey included views on what the tax changes mean for New Zealand and their businesses and signs of confidence among business leaders.

Executive Editor, Fran O' Sullivan presented the survey findings at the breakfast launch, ahead of Finance Minister Bill English and Tim Murphy editor of the New Zealand Herald, discussing the findings and steps to move the New Zealand economy forward in front of a top-drawer business audience.

As a proud co-sponsor of Mood of the Boardroom 2010, Simpson Grierson sent a strong contingent of partners and clients to the breakfast launch, including Andrew Harkness, Head of Banking and Finance, who joined the Finance Minister at his table.

Andrew Harkness commented "After a tough year, this report indicates that there is positive direction for New Zealand businesses, with improved business confidence being expanded. New Zealand which has been quite resistant to the efforts of the Global Financial Crisis when compared to other countries and should now be safe to climb out of the tail-end of the Global Financial Crisis".

The breakfast launch coincided with the publication of the report, which can be found below.
