Simpson Grierson Scholarship Programme
Simpson Grierson understands the importance of having the best possible start to your career. That is why we offer nine national official university scholarships each year. The Scholarships award includes:
- $3,000 towards your penultimate year of study;
- guarantee of a summer clerk position in either our Auckland or Wellington office;
- $1000 cash clothing allowance for your summer clerkship;
- access to our law library;
- a mentor to provide you with advice and guidance on your studies and career;
- details of the scholarship formally noted on your academic transcript.
2010 Scholarship Applications
We are now accepting applications for the 2010 scholarships. Applications close on Tuesday 1 September 2009.
Students who will complete their degree/s in 2011 are eligible to apply.
Application forms along with the regulations will be available at your law faculty reception, scholarships office or please upload the relevant form below.

When I first received my Simpson Grierson scholarship I never could have imagined the opportunities that I would be presented with. In my first year of work I travelled to both Singapore and Fiji to assist negotiating a large-scale multi-jurisdictional share sale. From day one I have accompanied my partners to client meetings and functions and have been encouraged to actively participate and engage with clients. I am lucky enough to work in a team that deals with expertise in a number of areas and this has allowed me to work on a great variety of matters for a diverse range of clients. I am constantly learning new things and being challenged to develop and improve my skills.
