Partners John Shackleton and Tim Stephens lead the Wellington Commercial Litigation team. The team acts for large corporate, state sector and local government clients. Their expertise covers energy, networks and utilities; financial services; insolvency; trade practices and commercial property. We are seeking a solicitor with 7 plus years' relevant experience with the ability to work under pressure and make an impact in a high performing environment.
Commercial/Commercial Property Intermediate Solicitor
This is an excellent opportunity for an intermediate solicitor to further grow their experience in commercial/commercial property law working within one of New Zealand's pre-eminent law firms. Reporting to Mike Scannell, you will be assisting corporate clients on a wide range of contract, business and commercial law issues. You will be responsible for managing a variety of transactions, including acquisition and divestment of businesses. You will also be responsible for advising on commercial and contractual issues. To be successful in this role you should have previous property experience, the ability to work under pressure, a sense of humour, an enthusiastic attitude, good client relationship skills, and an interest in the business environment our clients operate in.
Intermediate Resource Management and Local Government Solicitor
Here is a chance for you to join a busy and highly regarded RMA team. Our Local Government and Environment group act for some of New Zealand's largest local authorities, utilities, Government clients and companies. The team provides wide ranging advice and advocacy on all local government, resource management and environment matters, including day-to-day advice, management of large strategic projects; resource consent appeals and judicial review. They advise on a wide range of infrastructure projects including roading, wastewater, landfills, quarries, mining and energy projects.
A new role has arisen for an intermediate solicitor to join our Wellington office. Working with our Wellington RMA partners Duncan Laing and James Winchester, you will be dealing with local and central government and commercial clients. If you have three or more years' post admission experience with RMA work, then this could be your chance to join New Zealand's leading firm in environmental law.
You will need to have excellent written and oral skills, good judgement and a genuine interest in the area. Practical experience in policy or planning matters and/or a relevant second degree would also be of assistance but is not essential. You will need to be a self-starter, who is confident to work directly with our clients. Ideally you will have worked as part of a team on infrastructure projects.
If this sounds of interest to you, please call us, we would welcome the chance to tell you more about our clients, the work we're doing and how you could be part of it.
