Simpson Grierson hosts a variety of in-house events and seminars, and sponsor a number of industry conferences each year.  Details on some of them for 2014 are below.

New Zealand Society of Local Government Managers

The 2014 SOLGM Conference "Risky Business" takes place this year on 12-14 November at The Dunedin Centre, Dunedin.  We are a principal sponsor.

Local Authority Property Association

The 2014 LAPA Conference this year was in Napier on 5-7 November 2014. We are principal sponsor. 

Intellectual Property & Employment Seminar

On 30 October we held a seminar for clients on IP and Employment issues, "Do you know what your employees are doing in the basement?"

Annual Employment Law Seminars

Our annual client seminars were held this year on Wednesday 3 September in the Auckland office and Thursday 4 September in the Wellington office. Topics included health and safe, the Holidays Act, social media in the workplace, misconduct, redundancy, and other relevant topics.

Local Government New Zealand

The 2014 LGNZ conference was held from 20-22 July 2014. It was jointly hosted by Nelson City Council and Tasman District Council at the Rutherford Hotel in Nelson.

Property Institute New Zealand

The PINZ National Conference was held  in Rotorua on 3 & 4 July 2014. 

New Zealand Hotel Industry Conference and Technical Seminar

Simpson Grierson is proud to continue being a founding sponsor of the New Zealand Hotel Industry Conference for 2014.  This year's conference was  held at the Pullman Hotel in Auckland, on Thursday 5 June.

As in previous years, we also co-hosted the Technical Seminar with Horwath HTL and Colliers. The seminar was  held at our office on Wednesday 4 June.  

SOLGM 45 South Branch Wanaka Retreat

We were co-sponsors of this retreat held at the Edgewater in Wanaka on 2-4 February 2014. The retreat is a biennial gathering of SOLGM members to hear from some inspirational speakers, to discuss topical issues and network with others in the Local government sector, all while enjoying the relaxing environment of Wanaka.
