Simpson Grierson advises on the integration of land use planning to create an urban form which, ultimately, will lead to an increasingly sustainable transport system.
Supporting the introduction of new modes and forms of delivery that reduces reliance on the private motor vehicle is an essential part of sustainability. Our work in this respect includes:
- advising regional councils and local authorities on funding land transport projects
- advising on Land Transport NZ competitive pricing procedures (CPP) requirements (volume two)
- Tolling (our tolling work on the Penlink project was largely subsumed within the LTMA and we are working on other major projects)
- the relationship between Regional Land Transport Strategies and other statutory processes/documents such as LTCCPs
- Britomart Transportation Centre (above and below ground)
- North Shore Busway project (North Shore City/Transit New Zealand)
- bus priority routes
- real time passenger information and signal pre-emption systems
- cycleways for numerous local authorities
