Rāhui Kātene, MP for Te Tai Tonga Māori Electorate
Simpson Grierson is delighted to host Rāhui Kātene, MP for the Te Tai Tonga Māori Electorate at the Policymakers Series.
Mrs Kātene will share the work she is doing in her areas of interest and the Māori Party's aims for the remainder of this Parliamentary term, and beyond. This will include a discussion on Māori Party policy in relation to local government and promoting business development in Wellington and the South Island.
Before entering Parliament, Mrs Kātene practised law in Wellington and advised a number of iwi on Treaty of Waitangi claims. Her current parliamentary roles include membership of the Finance and Expenditure, Regulations Review, and Local Government and Environment Committees.

Simpson Grierson is delighted to host the Hon Chris Finlayson, Minister for Treaty of Waitangi Negotiations, Minister for Arts, Culture and Heritage and Attorney General at the first Policymaker event for 2011. The Minister will be providing an update on the Marine and Coastal Areas (Tukutai Moana) Bill (yet to be finalised).
