Simpson Grierson Hosts<br>Franchise Seminar

25 February 2009: Simpson Grierson was delighted to host and provide speakers for the Franchise Association of New Zealand Seminar held at the firm's head office in Auckland last night.

An engaged crowd of around forty attended the event, where Simpson Grierson commercial team senior associates, Craig Nelson and Patrick Casey,  delivered a presentation entitled 'Fortifying Your Franchise in Fragile Times'.

In addition to exploring the legal issues involved in managing existing franchisees and new franchisees, Craig and Patrick offered practical tips for franchisors in managing their credit risk. The session also provided information on: dealing with underperforming or troublesome franchisees; the importance of auditing franchisees; the dangers of overselling to new franchisees ; and terms of trade and the Personal Property Securities Act 1999.

"We were really pleased to support the New Zealand Franchise Association with their seminar programme this year and their initiative to provide focussed, specific advice to franchisors on relevant issues," said Patrick.

The seminar concluded with drinks, nibbles and the opportunity to network with other attendees.
