17 February 2009: Simpson Grierson was delighted to sponsor a golf hole at the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Charity Golf Day, held at Auckland's Remuera Golf Club yesterday.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter service provides a dedicated 24-hour, seven day a week service that  often makes a life or death difference for thousands of New Zealanders. From a defibrillator for a premature baby to full life support systems, the Westpac Rescue Helicopters are like a fully equipped intensive care unit in the sky, ready to deal with any situation.

Simpson Grierson sponsored a golf hole at the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Charity Golf Day, which raised funds for the Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust. Andrew Harkness, Simpson Grierson partner and head of the banking and finance team, represented the firm at this action-packed event.

"There is considerable demand for the Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust's services and they are reliant on donations to operate," said Andrew. "We value the opportunity to support Westpac Bank in their sponsorship of this vital service."
