Simpson Grierson ranks top in Labour and Employee Benefits law

Auckland - Simpson Grierson remains amongst the top-tier employment law specialists in New Zealand with the release of the PLC Cross-Border Labour and Employee Benefits Guidebook 2007/08.

Leading lawyer and Simpson Grierson Partner Phillipa Muir, who heads the firms employment group, was singled out for her considerable experience in both contentious and non-contentious employment law.

Partner Shan Wilson was also recommended in the guide as a specialist with broad experience in secondments, restructuring, contentious collective bargaining and industrial relations issues. Ms Wilson has been involved in several test cases before the Employment Court this year creating new developments in the law around industrial action, protection of patients health during rolling strike action, enforceability of settlement agreements and the jurisdiction of the Employment Court on a challenge from the Authority.
