Simpson Grierson awards <br>Environmental Law Prize

Rebecca Rose of Hamilton has won the Simpson Grierson Environmental Law Prize given at the University of Waikato School of Law.

Rebecca received the highest marks for the school's Environmental Law 434 paper to take home the prize. The Environmental Law course studies the general principles of the law concerning natural and physical resources, sustainable development, pollution control, town planning and the Treaty of Waitangi.

With an industry leading Resource Management and Environmental Law Group, Simpson Grierson has been sponsoring the Environmental Law prize since 1983.

Simpson Grierson Chairman and Partner, Rob Fisher, said the firm is proud to sponsor the award. "We're proud to be able to recognise the talent and hard work of students studying this area of the law. Given the growing complexities of environmental issues, resource management and environmental law has only become more and more challenging. It's an excellent achievement to have done so well and we're glad to honour Rebecca's efforts – well done!"
