June 2005: People using mobile phone cameras to take intimate photographs of others without their knowledge could be jailed for up to 3 years if the Crimes (Intimate Covert Filming) Amendment Bill is enacted. The Bill, introduced on 12 April 2005, implements the criminal offence provisions recommended by the Law Commission last year in a study paper specifically commissioned by the Government for advice on legislative changes to address the growing problem of covert filming.
