Jock has considerable experience in advising on property development in both the commercial and residential sectors, and in commercial leasing and financing.
Jock was the founding chairman of the Casino Control Authority and served in that position from 1990 to the end of 1999, during which a regulatory system was established for the casino industry in New Zealand and the initial casino licences were granted.
The regulatory system established during this time has received worldwide approval and recognition. During the hearings of the applications for casino licences, consideration was given to a great deal of evidence concerning the hospitality industry in New Zealand.
Jock also holds several directorships of prominent listed New Zealand companies.
Jock has been active in fostering sport in New Zealand. He was a founding trustee of Sport Auckland and a past chairman of New Zealand Soccer, Soccer Auckland and deputy chairman of the New Zealand Under 17 organising committee which successfully hosted the 1999 FIFA Under 17 World Championship tournament.
Jock has been a member of the Norfolk Island Gaming Authority since it was established for the purpose of regulating internet gaming operators based on the island.
