Fiona is a Senior Associate in the Resources and Infrastructure Department, which is  comprised of the commercial property, construction, and local government and environment work groups.  She specialises in the areas of local government and property law.

Fiona has particular expertise in the areas of land subdivision (including cross leasing and unit titling), sales and purchases of commercial, residential and public land, leasing, retirement villages, and complex land title investigations. She has acted for local authorities, property developers and individuals, as well as for the residents' committees of several retirement villages.  She has also previously acted for lenders in residential lending transactions involving titles insurance.

Prior to joining Simpson Grierson, Fiona was employed by Land Information New Zealand for a number of years and she maintains an interest in Land Information New Zealand initiatives. She manages the Landonline electronic registration system for the firm.

Fiona is currently operating in a professional support and development role.  She has primary responsibility for the creation and continuous development of the precedents and related know-how systems used by the lawyers in the Resources and Infrastructure Department.

• Auckland local authorities' due diligence for the acquisition of the Auckland Rail Corridor
• Acquisition agreements and re-titling relating to the widening of Great North Road, Waterview for Auckland City Council
• Acquisition agreements and re-titling relating to the widening of Taharoto and Esmonde Roads, Takapuna for North Shore City Council
• Advising resident committees of several Auckland retirement villages on occupation licence issues
• Project to review and update the legal forms and precedents published by the Auckland District Law Society for the purposes of compliance with the Property Law Act 2007
