Lisa has specialised in energy and construction law since 1996, initially with a top tier law firm in the UK and since 1999 with Simpson Grierson. Lisa has extensive experience in major national and international project negotiation and documentation and has also been involved in a variety of dispute resolution work.
She has acted for a wide range of clients including utility providers, developers, contractors, liquidators and local authorities. Lisa has drafted, negotiated and advised on various forms of construction contracts including BOOT projects, EPC contracts, design build contracts, alliancing agreements, standard forms of contract (such as FIDIC and NZS 3910) and GMP contracts. Lisa has acted on a variety of energy projects including the development of UK wind farms (onshore and offshore), combined cycle power stations, oil refineries and natural gas supply agreements. Lisa has also represented clients in adjudication proceedings (UK), arbitration and the High Court in relation to construction and energy disputes. Lisa has been a guest lecturer at Unitec for the master of Project Management Course and has spoken at the Sustainable Energy Forum.

- Wellington and Hutt City water management contracts for Abigroup (NZ) Ltd
- Tranz Rail's NZ$22 million double tracking of the central railway line through Auckland
- Advising the consortium of Transit New Zealand, Manukau City and Auckland City on the NZ$4 billion Eastern Transport Corridor Project
- Auckland City's NZ$200 million+ Britomart Transport Centre project and Britomart Above Ground Development contract involving heritage restoration and new developments in down town Auckland totalling over NZ$350 million
- Advising Kapiti Coast District Council on the design, build and operate conditions of contract for the Paraparaumu Sewage Treatment Plant Upgrade
- Drafting contract documents for a communications company in preparation to build New Zealand's multi million dollar 3G compatible third cellular infrastructure network (if successful in bid for Spectrum)
- Developing standard tender and contract documentation for numerous organisations including Transit New Zealand, Auckland City, Fletcher Construction, North Shore City and Rodney District
- Advising numerous local authorities, developers and contractors on the Building Act 2004, Construction Contracts Act 2002 and other recent legislation affecting the industry
- Lead external legal adviser for the development of Europe's largest wind farm project undertaken by a major United Kingdom utility
- Successfully representing Fletcher Energy in relation to a force majeure dispute concerning the Taranaki Combined Cycle Power Station at Stratford (arbitration and appeal to the High Court)
