Phil is a Senior Associate in Simpson Grierson's Resources and Infrastructure Department.
Phil joined Simpson Grierson from the partnership of one of Wellington's leading boutique law firms and specialises in public sector property and development issues. Phil primarily advises local authority clients on all aspects of commercial leasing, acquisitions and dispositions as well as corporatisation and infrastructure projects. He also advises on territorial authority liability issues and the Foreshore & Seabed legislation.
Phil also advises businesses on commercial and residential property projects including drafting and negotiating commercial leases. He has also acted on numerous business sales and purchases (including establishment of national franchises), company share sales and purchases, unit title developments, subdivisions and farm purchases. Other work has included securities realisation for major trading banks.
Another area of his practice is the formation and management as independent trustee of family trusts and the provision of general advice on asset protection.
