Caroline is the firm's Business Transformation and Innovation Director. She is an expert in project design in the legal sector, particularly involving technology-focused solutions. 

Previously a finance lawyer, Caroline transitioned into innovation and technology roles while at global law firm Allen & Overy in London. Caroline has led and been involved in various projects including implementing new business models and processes for delivering legal services, building technology solutions to increase efficiency, and coordinating training to develop digital capabilities.

Caroline is passionate about how legal teams can develop the skills and tools needed to thrive in a rapidly changing business landscape and deliver excellent service and value. Particular areas of focus include:

  • process improvement

  • legal project management

  • lean/agile approaches

  • design thinking

  • leveraging technology and data

  • change management 

In addition to focusing on these areas within Simpson Grierson, Caroline and the team work with clients' in-house legal teams to help them meet their emerging and evolving challenges.

Caroline is a member of the LegalTechNZ executive committee and frequently presents at innovation and legal events such as the International Legal Technology Association Insights event, LawFest and Janders Dean Legal Horizons.
