Public Private Partnerships

We have been actively involved as lead legal adviser in the majority of large privately-financed infrastructure projects implemented in New Zealand in recent years.

Our specialists have backgrounds in the construction, commercial property, transport, water and waste water, mining and energy, telecommunications, and project finance sectors. This industry knowledge means we are well-placed to advise a range of key players, including owners, developers, government agencies, project sponsors, financiers, contractors, operators, and maintainers.

Our Experience

  • Auckland City Council - the $80 million City Vector Arena (a 12,000-seat indoor stadium delivered on a PPP/BOOT basis)
  • Rodney District Council - the Penlink Toll Road project, involving a motorway extension and bridge linking State Highway 1 to the Whangaparoa Peninsula
  • Ministry of Economic Development - proposed investment of up to $1.5 billion, alongside private partners, in a national fibre optic cable broadband network
