Electricity Lines Regulation: Commerce Commission Holds Out A Carrot And A Stick April 2003: The NZ Commerce Commission has just released its final decision on how it will measure the performance of electricity lines businesses. If these conditions are not met, price control can be brought in. While the thresholds adopted are not as harsh as feared by lines businesses, the Commission has left its options open for introducing a profit cap in the future if progress is not made in reducing prices for end consumers.
