The Da Vinci Code court case attracted lot of media interest around the world. In our first article this month, Richard Watts and Rob Batty take a look at how this case has direct relevance to creators of software.

Also in the IT space - but at the 'sales' end of the pipeline - our second article examines the recently released mandatory rules for government procurement that will affect many ICT supply contracts. Government agencies and more who supply to and intend to supply to Government Departments will be interested in this article.

Our information and communications technology group also provide an overview of the computer crimes provisions of the Crimes Act in light of the recent conviction of a Trade Me fraudster. The message continues to be that prevention and self-protection is the key issue for both businesses and individuals.

Finally, further to last month's exceptionally popular article on Information Technology Policies, Simpson Grierson's Information Services Director, Valerie Fogg, gives a coal-face perspective on company email policies.
