The internet, email and IT generally can be a potential source of conflict and risk for any company. All the more reason to have a clearly laid out information technology policy. Our first article this month is in response to a specific request from one of our readers. It looks at what you should be including in an information technology policy and why it is so important.
Also in the IT space - but looking externally this time - our second article looks at competitive threats posed by similar domain names. This is a topic that has been receiving some interest of late. If you find this article of interest, you may also be interested in this month's "Question of the Month".
Karen Ngan, Jonathan Lewin and Jenny Te of our information and communications technology group provide an update on the .EU domain. It is not too late to register and anyone doing (or considering doing) business in the EU should consider obtaining a .EU domain name.
Finally this month, in an article just published in IT Brief magazine, Mark Hargreaves and Claire Foggo examine confidentiality agreements with relation to the IT and technology sectors. This article looks at the implications of signing (or not), what to look out for, what provisions should be included, and the benefits and limitations of these sorts of agreements.
