Charlotte is a senior associate in the firm's construction group. Her work experience includes four years with two leading construction law firms in London.

Charlotte's expertise includes drafting, reviewing, and advising on construction contracts including NZS 3910:2003, NZS 3915:2005, and the international forms of NEC3 and FIDIC. Charlotte often acts as a probity auditor ensuring councils meet their obligations of fairness and impartiality during the tendering and procurement process.

Charlotte regularly advises on arbitration (both national and international), construction adjudications, mediations, and litigation. She has extensive specialist experience advising on the Construction Contracts Act and other recent legislation affecting the industry.

  • Canam Construction (1955) - appearing in the High Court on a judicial review application arising from an adjudicator's decision
  • Christchurch City Council - drafting and reviewing various contracts, including providing draft templates and training staff on their use and implementation
  • Developing and reviewing standard tender and contract documentation based on both local and international standards for numerous organisations including local authorities, large construction companies and consultancy firms
  • Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority - advising on demolition strategy and preparing associated contracts
  • Christchurch City Council - advising on contractual issues arising out of the Christchurch earthquakes
  • Dispute resolution - negotiating settlement of a multi-million dollar dispute over operation of a transfer facility
  • Dispute resolution - negotiating settlement with a receiver when principal insolvent on a hotel development in Queenstown
  • Construction adjudication - assisting various parties in the construction adjudication process, and (where required) assisting in enforcement of determinations and collection of outstanding awards
