Joost is a senior associate in the firm's corporate group. He specialises in corporate and securities law transactions, including public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance.

Joost's work experience includes a number of years at leading international law firm Linklaters in London, specialising in equity and debt capital market issuance. In London he completed a client secondment with Morgan Stanley, providing transaction management and compliance advisory services. Joost also had a one year secondment to the Takeovers Panel (New Zealand), where he advised on a range of compliance, regulatory, and enforcement issues.

  • Lloyds Banking Group - participation in state recapitalisation, liquidity facility, and asset protection schemes including negotiation with HM Treasury on structuring issues
  • Lloyds TSB Group - acquisition of HBOS under a Companies Act (UK) scheme of arrangement
  • Barclays - £3 billion callable perpetual capital instruments
  • Credit Suisse - US$1.2 billion structured repackaged participation securities
  • Credit Agricole - $250 million deeply subordinated perpetual notes
  • Barclays - US$1 billion American Depositary Receipts issue representing preference shares
  • Rabobank Nederland - $900 million perpetual non-cumulative capital securities
