Working with Community Law Centres

This year we have extended our work with Community Law Centres in Auckland and Wellington. Our work helps the CLCs provide free legal advice to those who can’t afford it and empower people to resolve their own legal issues.

Over the past two years we have formed a close partnership with the Auckland Community Law Centre (ACLC) as part of our pro bono programme. The programme has been a big success and our contribution is highly valued by the ACLC. 

Our partnership initially involved having a year one solicitor based at the ACLC for half a day each week. This year, at the request of the ACLC, we have doubled our commitment and now provide a year one solicitor for a full day per week. This helps provide greater continuity of advice on the cases our lawyers are assigned.

Following on from the success of our partnership in Auckland, we have now expanded our support for community law centres to Wellington. This involves us having a year 1 or year 2 solicitor based at the Wellington Community Law Centre for one half day per week.
