We're pleased to announce that former ministerial policy advisor, Mark Baker-Jones, has been appointed to lead our climate change practice as a special counsel. (Click to view his profile).

Mark has worked extensively as a climate change policy advisor both here and in Australia. Most recently as advisor to Climate Change Minister James Shaw, on the development of a new climate change legislative regime for New Zealand.

His depth of advisory experience, and unique insight into the current legislative changes underway, will build and elevate our cross-firm practice, while adding tremendous value for our clients - helping them to prepare for the upcoming changes, stay ahead of climate change adaptation, and mitigate impacts.

Prior to his ministerial policy advisor role, Mark was heavily involved in climate change policy development in Australia and holds an advisory board member position on the Queensland Climate Advisory Council.

His other previous roles include being a special counsel at DLA Piper (Australia) and a partner at DibbsBarker (now Dentons).

Mark has also held an academic position at Queensland University of Technology, was a guest lecturer at the University of Queensland, and is an advisory board member at the Griffith University Law Futures Centre.
