Joanne Dickson
Joanne is a senior associate in the firm's commercial litigation group. She specialises in the resolution of commercial and civil disputes, particularly those involving intellectual property issues and commercial contracts.
Joanne regularly appears before the New Zealand courts, and engages in alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation, negotiation and arbitration. She has acted on matters involving, among other things, copyright, trademarks, patents and confidential information, defamation, privacy, the Fair Trading Act, and contractual disputes. She has also delivered seminars on defamation, privacy, and intellectual property law.

- National Storage - successfully defending claim brought by National Mini Storage in the High Court concerning the use of the National Storage trading name to promote self-storage facilities in the Auckland self-storage market
- Ware v Johnson & Ors - defending defamation proceeding brought against second and third defendants
- Otoy New Zealand - acting for rights holder in respect of successful urgent interim injunction to restrain infringement of copyright in GPU rendering software
- Nestle New Zealand Ltd v Mars New Zealand Ltd - acting for Mars in proceeding brought by Nestle alleging breach of the Fair Trading Act
