Senior Associate 7+ years

This role requires a senior commercial lawyer with proven experience running large and complex transactions.  Experience in corporate, ICT, financial services (including managed funds) and/or insurance would be an advantage. If a leadership role appeals and you have a flair for business development, there is a real opportunity to grow a practice and team. The work mix includes M&A, intricate contracts, PPPs and large scale ICT transformation projects.

Mandarin speaking associate
Our team is regularly working for significant Chinese clients investing in New Zealand so we are seeking a fluent Chinese language speaking corporate lawyer to join our team. In addition to operating as an intermediate corporate lawyer you will be called on to provide written and verbal interpretation for these clients in particular. Your language skills will need to include written and verbal Mandarin (Cantonese will be a bonus), ideally with sound business vocabulary.
Top tier corporate associate

Given the level of transactions our team are involved in, we are seeking a strong corporate lawyer who can get involved in all aspects of corporate work including mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, public takeovers, private equity and other corporate finance work.

Intermediate Solicitor - Banking and Finance Litigation

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic lawyer to join our busy Banking & Finance litigation team.

We regularly conduct significant and large scale cases in all New Zealand Courts. You would assist in those cases, but also have conduct of your own smaller matters.

As well as progressing matters in Court, our litigators provide proactive and innovative advice to New Zealand's leading financial institutions and insolvency practitioners, directed to settling disputes using alternative dispute resolution procedures.

With three to five years post admission experience, you will have excellent analytical, research and communication skills, in addition to the ability to work well with others in a fast paced team environment. Expertise in Insolvency is preferred, but not a pre-requisite.

Support Opportunities

As a legal administrator you are part of a multi-skilled team. You are tasked with assisting the firm to meet its business goals by providing administrative support to our authors and partners. The 'hub' model enables you to work closely with the other legal administrators to provide support firm-wide and to each other. A hub is generally made up of three or four legal administrators providing support to a number of legal teams. While you will spend most of your time providing support to the legal teams within your hub's vicinity, it is expected that you will extend support to other hubs across all three offices if the need arises. Successful candidates will have 5-7 years legal secretarial or personal assistant in a legal or corporate role. Experience in diary management, filing, archiving, travel coordination, client management, opening and closing matters, and billing is desired. High standards and a proven track record of achieving excellence in all aspects of your work is a must.
