Banking and Finance Solicitors

Our transactional banking and finance team has an expanding practice with a number of senior lawyers and plenty of work. We urgently need junior lawyers to join the team.

Reporting to Andrew Harkness and Wayne Browne, you will be involved in documenting, negotiating and implementing finance and security arrangements for banks, finance companies, corporates and local authorities. The work will include domestic and international transactions and will include corporate finance, property finance, project finance and capital markets.

The positions offer plenty of experience and a chance to build an area of expertise which is internationally marketable.

Ideally, you will have a year's post admission experience with a readiness to learn and bring your attention to detail, strong problem solving and verbal and written communications skills.

Banking and Finance - Insolvency Solicitors

We are looking for talented and enthusiastic lawyers to join our extremely busy Banking & Finance/Insolvency litigation team.

We regularly conduct significant and large scale cases in all New Zealand Courts. As well as progressing matters in Court when required, our litigators seek to provide proactive and innovative advice directed to settling disputes using alternative dispute resolution procedures.

With three to four years post admission experience, you will have excellent analytical, research and communication skills, in addition to the ability to work well with others in a highly pressured team environment. Expertise in Insolvency/Security Enforcement is preferred.

Intermediate Litigation Solicitor - Media Practice

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an intermediate level solicitor to join our busy media litigation practice.  Reporting to William Akel and Tracey Walker you will be intimately involved in the resolution of commercial disputes, including those involving communications issues, corporate reputation, the enforcement of intellectual property rights, sales and marketing issues, and private international law.

Our commercial litigation department regularly conducts significant and large scale cases in all New Zealand Courts (including the Supreme Court) as well as domestic and international tribunals.  As well as progressing matters in Court, our commercial litigators look to provide proactive and innovative advice directed to resolving disputes using alternative dispute resolution procedures.

Ideally, you will have five years' post admission experience and excellent analytical, research and communication skills.  You will be involved with a wide variety of work encompassing all aspects of litigation and dispute resolution work.  Key to your success will be your initiative, enthusiasm and drive.


Litigation - Intermediate/Senior Solicitor

We are seeking to grow Robert Gapes' litigation team with an intermediate/senior solicitor. Multinational and New Zealand clients regularly call on Rob and the team in a wide variety of commercial and civil disputes, including product liability, contract, insurance, negligence, personal injury, Companies Act, conflict of laws, and consumer law disputes.

Whether you have a strong commercial litigation experience base already (ideally at least four years post-admission experience), you will need to have excellent analytical, research and communication skills.
