Mandarin speaking associate
 
Our team is regularly working for significant Chinese clients investing in New Zealand so we are seeking a fluent Chinese language speaking corporate lawyer to join our team. In addition to operating as an intermediate corporate lawyer you will be called on to provide written and verbal interpretation for these clients in particular. Your language skills will need to include written and verbal Mandarin (Cantonese will be a bonus), ideally with sound business vocabulary.

Business Development Executive

Auckland

Reporting to our Business Development Manager the Business Development Executive will be responsible for supporting revenue growth activity across the firm. This includes:

  • development of key client relationships within the firm's Client Account Leadership (CLA) programme.

  • providing support on sales-related projects, eg preparing, formatting and completing credentials, pitches, profiles and other written documentation

  • project managing the annual international legal directory submissions and league tables

Your experience needs to reflect your strong interpersonal abilities, confidence, assertiveness and flexibility with an analytical orientation and sound planning and problem solving skills. The ability to work under pressure and often to tight deadlines is essential. 

The successful candidate will possess a tertiary qualification, preferably in marketing/business, or law. They will also have a minimum of 2 years' experience working within a commercial environment (professional services would be an advantage). Ideally you will also have:

  • a strong commercial awareness

  • excellent written and oral communication skills

  • a knowledge of the business tender process

  • experience with client account/relationship programmes  including providing internal support to client teams

  • high level competency in Microsoft Office

RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • assisting and supporting teams throughout all tender and pitch processes

  • working with partners to help them formulate, implement and monitor plans and initiatives to pursue target opportunities

  • updating of core materials including lawyer profiles, deal lists and capability statements/brochures

  • undertake background client research to support practice group initiatives

  • assisting with the development of key client relationships

  • supporting the development of new client services and products

  • facilitating business planning and assisting with the implementation of outcomes

  • maintaining an understanding of our core business areas to add further value and identify business opportunities
