We were pleased to advise our long-standing client Wet & Forget on its recent acquisition by Direct Capital, New Zealand's largest private equity firm.

This multimillion-dollar transaction marks a significant chapter in the 30-year journey of a home-grown business that now distributes to the US, Australia and the UK, with a dedicated staff of 130 people.

Corporate Partner Andrew Matthews says: “Simpson Grierson is delighted to have been able to assist in this transaction.

"Wet & Forget is a classic example of an inspiring Kiwi business that has made a global name for itself.

"This deal echoes what we said in our M&A Expanding Horizons report in October 2023, that in a challenging economic environment there will still be strong investor appetite for robust businesses with demonstrated customer demand and a clear growth pipeline."

The Simpson Grierson team was led by Andrew Matthews, along with Special Counsel Sarah Chapman, Senior Associate Courtney Mearns, Senior Solicitor Vaughan Somerville, and Solicitors Miranda Smith, Christy Alexander and Zoe Drake.
