19 December 2006 - Simpson Grierson is delighted to announce its continued support of Youthline this Christmas. Rather than spend money on printing and distributing traditional Christmas cards, Simpson Grierson will support and raise the awareness of this very worthy organisation.

Youthline's aim is to provide support and development to young people in New Zealand before it becomes critical. Last year, with the financial support of Simpson Grierson, Youthline re-developed its website to include an online membership, a community page and event calendars.

Because young people do not come with an instruction manual
This year, Simpson Grierson will be providing support for Youthline to create a unique service just for parents. They can now email Youthline and receive expert advice directly from qualified mentors, discreetly and in total confidence.

Experienced in the issues young people face, Youthline mentors are trained to give sound, realistic advice on parenting to any and all who need it. Youthline have also set up an online bulletin board where common issues can be discussed and experiences shared.

Youth for Art
Simpson Grierson will also be supporting Youthline's 'Youth for Art' Project – a nationwide competition where school pupils can pit their creative skills against one another. The winners and their schools will receive prizes and have their work exhibited at various venues across the county.

“This is a wonderful example of how we can strengthen our communities by working together,” says Youthline’s CEO Stephen Bell. “The consistent support that Simpson Grierson provides has enabled Youthline to develop creative ways of engaging and supporting young people and their families across the country.”

Simpson Grierson Chairman, Rob Fisher says, “We’re delighted to be able to apply the money that would otherwise be spent on printing and distributing traditional Christmas cards to this service for our young people and their parents.”

“We trust our clients, suppliers and other recipients of Simpson Grierson Christmas cards in previous years will support our decision and feel proud that they too have helped contribute towards this worthy cause.”
