Key documents

Phishing and scam alerts

Scammers will sometimes impersonate law firms, including Simpson Grierson, to gain access to personal or financial information. Here's how to tell a genuine communication is from us.

We will not:

  • Send you an email from an address that doesn't end with @simpsongrierson.com

  • Use prerecorded calls or messages to request information from you.

Any links to external websites other than www.simpsongrierson.com that we use in our Legal Updates or News articles, are checked to be safe and, to our knowledge, are reputable and reliable websites.

If we contact you via messaging apps or from an overseas number

On occasion, a Simpson Grierson employee you already work with may contact you via a messaging app such as WhatsApp, or from a phone number outside New Zealand. If this happens, they will identify themselves by name and confirm they work at Simpson Grierson. If you're not sure it's genuinely them, call them back on the number you already have, or contact us at info@simpsongrierson.com to check.

If you're unsure

Please don’t open any attached files, click on links in the email and don’t reply to the sender. Get in touch with your usual Simpson Grierson contact or email us at info@simpsongrierson.com so we can check it for you. You can also report suspicious activity to https://www.cert.govt.nz and https://netsafe.org.nz.
