Simpson Grierson has advised Bourns, Inc., a leading global supplier of electronic components, on its proposed offer to acquire 100% of Rakon Limited (NZX: RAK) for NZ$356 million.

Bourns is a privately held US-based electronics company with global manufacturing and distribution operations. The company has offered NZ$1.55 per share for Rakon, a New Zealand technology company specialising in frequency control and timing solutions.

The proposed acquisition brings together Bourns' global reach with Rakon's specialised expertise in frequency control and timing solutions.

Simpson Grierson partner Michael Pollard led the firm's team advising Bourns on the New Zealand regulatory process and transaction documentation, supported by partners Andrew Matthews and Anastasiya Gamble.

Michael Pollard said: "We were pleased to guide Bourns through the New Zealand takeover framework on this transaction. This transaction represents a significant opportunity for both companies."

Simpson Grierson’s corporate and commercial team has extensive experience advising on mergers and acquisitions, takeover offers, and capital markets transactions across New Zealand and the broader Asia-Pacific region.
