Our corporate team is delighted to have advised Comvita Limited on its SG$8.5 million (NZ$10.36 million) acquisition of specialist honey retailer HoneyWorld Singapore. The deal was announced on 4 July.

The strategic acquisition grows Comvita’s market share in the Mānuka honey category in Singapore to around 50%.

Lead partner Andrew Matthews commented on the deal “It’s great to be able to assist Comvita with this important growth opportunity. It’s also really pleasing to see leading New Zealand companies expanding internationally.”

The acquisition is the first by a New Zealand business in Singapore since 2010.

Simpson Grierson’s deal team also included Courtney Mearns, Senior Associate.
