Simpson Grierson advises Multiplier Holdings on acquisition of Oxygen Advisors

Simpson Grierson has advised Multiplier Holdings on its acquisition of Oxygen Advisors, a New Zealand-based accounting and advisory firm specialising in startups and high-growth businesses across New Zealand and Australia.
Multiplier Holdings, backed by venture capital investors Ribbit Capital and Lightspeed Ventures, is pursuing a global strategy of investing in professional services firms and modernising them through technology.
The acquisition gives Oxygen Advisors access to Multiplier's engineering talent and resources to enhance its systems and services, including outsourced CFO, accounting, and tax compliance offerings, as AI continues to reshape the professional services landscape.
James Hawes, Corporate Partner at Simpson Grierson said of the deal: "Multiplier has a clear and compelling vision for how professional services firms can grow and compete in an increasingly technology-driven environment.
“It was a pleasure advising Multiplier on this acquisition, and we look forward to seeing what Oxygen Advisors achieves as part of Multiplier’s global portfolio."
Oxygen Advisors' management team will remain in place following the acquisition.
The Simpson Grierson team, co-led by Corporate Partner James Hawes and Senior Associate Toby Holborow, included Senior Associate Dania Alsagoff, and Solicitors Jayne Barclay and Rosie Dossor.
