Simpson Grierson advises Multiplier Holdings on New Zealand expansion through acquisition of Greenhawk Chartered Accountants

Simpson Grierson has advised Multiplier Holdings on its acquisition of Greenhawk Chartered Accountants, marking Multiplier's latest investment in the New Zealand professional services sector and further strengthening its New Zealand and global platform.
Multiplier Holdings, backed by venture capital investors Ribbit Capital and Lightspeed Ventures, is pursuing a global strategy of investing in professional services firms and modernising them through technology and operational innovation.
Greenhawk is a New Zealand-based accounting, tax and growth advisory firm serving businesses, not-for-profits and investors across New Zealand. Through the acquisition, Greenhawk will gain access to Multiplier's technology capabilities, resources and expertise to further enhance its service offering, including outsourced CFO, accounting and tax compliance services. Greenhawk's management team will remain in place following completion of the transaction.
The acquisition follows Multiplier's purchase of Oxygen Advisors earlier this year.
Commenting on the transaction, Simpson Grierson Corporate Partner James Hawes said:
"This acquisition represents another important milestone in Multiplier's growth journey and its continued investment in the New Zealand market.
"Greenhawk has built a strong reputation and client base, and this transaction creates an exciting platform for the business's next phase of growth.
“We were pleased to support Multiplier on this acquisition and its broader expansion strategy."
The Simpson Grierson team was co-led by Corporate Partner James Hawes and Senior Associate Toby Holborow, with support from Senior Solicitor Caleb Antonio-Rooney and Solicitor Eva Williams.
