Simpson Grierson has advised Qube Holdings on its acquisition of Wallace Group, the largest private stevedore operating at the Port of Auckland.

The deal, which covers Wallace Investments Limited and Southern Seas Stevedoring Limited, further expands Qube's footprint in New Zealand's ports and logistics market.

It is the second Qube acquisition Simpson Grierson has advised on in under a year, following the company's acquisition of Nexus Logistics from the Port of Auckland in late 2025.

Corporate Partner Michael Pollard, who led the Simpson Grierson team on both transactions, said: “This acquisition gives Qube an established platform at the Port of Auckland and further strengthens its position in New Zealand’s ports and logistics sector, building on its continued investment in the country’s freight and supply chain infrastructure.

“It has been a privilege to support Qube on another significant transaction as it continues to grow its presence in New Zealand,” says Michael.

The Simpson Grierson team was led by Partner Michael Pollard and included Senior Associate Louw Wessels, Senior Solicitor Caleb Antonio-Rooney and Solicitor Charlotte Johnstone.
