Simpson Grierson is looking for a motivated Marketing & Communications Executive to join our BD & Marketing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with early marketing or communications experience who is ready to take the next step, develop their content and digital skills, and gain exposure to a busy, varied and collaborative professional services environment.
  
About the role Reporting to our Client & Markets Director, you’ll help deliver the firm’s marketing and communications activity across digital channels, internal communications, website content, social media, EDMs, publications, awards and directories. You’ll work closely with partners, lawyers and colleagues across the wider BD & Marketing team to ensure our communications are clear, consistent, on brand and aligned with the firm’s strategic priorities.

This is a hands-on role where strong writing, careful coordination and sound judgement matter. You’ll play an important part in helping protect and build Simpson Grierson’s profile in the market, while supporting high-quality communications across the firm.
  
What you’ll be doing

  • Drafting, editing and uploading content across our website, social media, EDM and internal channels
  • Maintaining social media schedules and content planners, and supporting day-to-day moderation
  • Coordinating review and sign-off processes to ensure communications are accurate, timely and on brand
  • Delivering our internal newsletter, Tūhono, including drafting, scheduling and coordinating inputs
  • Supporting lawyers and staff with social media training, guidance and day-to-day communications support
  • Translating technical legal content into clear, client-focused communications
  • Compiling reporting and analytics to help inform future communications activity
  • Supporting directory submissions, firm awards, thought leadership, campaigns and publications
  • Helping brief and coordinate digital content formats, including video, podcast and visual assets
About you You’re organised, curious and proactive, with a genuine interest in communications, content and digital channels. You bring strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and the confidence to work with a range of stakeholders in a professional services environment.
You’ll bring:
  • 1–3 years’ experience in a marketing or communications role
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences
  • Experience working across digital channels, including social media and email campaigns
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders
  • A collaborative, trusted and professional working style
  • High attention to detail and a clear focus on client-centric messaging
  • Confidence using digital tools, and an interest in using AI thoughtfully to work smarter
Experience in legal or professional services, CMS, EDM or analytics platforms, internal communications, awards or directory submissions, or basic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Suite would be an advantage — but attitude, curiosity and a willingness to get stuck in matter most.
