Fantastic opportunity for a current judge's clerk to join our Wellington itigation practice

  • An iteresting mix of public and commercial disputes
  • Be part of a national practice group
  • Supportive, inclusive environment

We have a great opportunity for a current Judges’ Clerk to join our Wellington Litigation team as a solicitor in 2027. This is a chance to build your career in a team that works across public and commercial disputes, with a particular focus on complex, high-stakes and often unusual matters.

Our Wellington team is led by two energetic and supportive Partners with broad experience in New Zealand and internationally. The team works across a wide range of matters, including contractual disputes, tort claims, public law, judicial review and regulatory issues, climate change and environmental litigation, constitutional issues and law reform. The team also operates across High Court and appellate advocacy, mediation, arbitration, risk management and strategic advice, and works closely with colleagues across our national Litigation practice and the wider firm.

This role would suit a second year Judges’ Clerk who is looking to move into litigation and who enjoys complex legal issues, strong written advocacy and working in a collaborative, high-performing environment.

You’ll be part of a group that values teamwork, strategic thinking, and energy – and which provides considerable support alongside opportunities to develop.  We’re a team (and a firm) that lives its values – putting people first, being at our best, and being energetic for change.
