Simpson Grierson is pleased to be advising Adamantem Capital and Heritage Lifecare on Heritage’s proposed acquisition of New Zealand Aged Care Services.

The acquisition represents a major expansion for Heritage Lifecare, bringing together two significant New Zealand retirement village and aged-care businesses.

Together, Heritage will have 55 care homes and 28 retirement villages, becoming New Zealand’s second-largest aged care provider.  The acquisition will enable Heritage to extend its experience in higher acuity care to more New Zealanders.

Michael Pollard, who led the Simpson Grierson team, said:

“This is a significant strategic acquisition for Heritage Lifecare and an important investment for Adamantem. The transaction demonstrates the role private capital can play in supporting the growth and development of essential aged-care services.  We are proud to be supporting Adamantem and Heritage Lifecare on this important next stage of Heritage Lifecare’s growth.”

The transaction adds to Simpson Grierson’s leading private capital and M&A practice, which regularly advises domestic and international private equity firms and their portfolio companies on investments, acquisitions, divestments and other significant transactions.

The Simpson Grierson team was led by partner Michael Pollard and senior associate Dania Alsagoff and the core team included partners Barney Cumberland, James Craig, Tara Wilson and Dominic Toomey, senior associates Andrew Priestly and Lucy Westenra, senior solicitor Hamish MacDonald and solicitors Will Richardson and Rachel Alexander.
