Matt has a wealth of experience advising lenders and borrowers on domestic and cross-border financing transactions, with a particular focus on leveraged financing transactions involving private capital providers.
Matt’s experience covers a range of financing products across all levels of the capital structure, including unitranche, holdco PIK, senior/mezz and special situations matters. He is regularly recognised by clients for the clarity of his advice and his ability to understand the commercial drivers of a transaction.
Prior to his return to New Zealand in November 2024, Matt spent six years working in the leveraged finance teams at Baker McKenzie LLP and Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP in London.
