Two new Senior Associates join Simpson Grierson

We’re pleased to announce the appointment as Senior Associate of Ashleigh Inder in our top-ranked Employment practice, and alumnus Greg Mitchell who returns as a Senior Associate in our highly-regarded Corporate & Commercial group.

Ashleigh is based in our Christchurch office, complementing our nationwide employment offering and further strengthening the 20-strong team’s expertise.

Returning after five years at London-based Macfarlanes LLP, Ashleigh says: “Simpson Grierson’s employment practice is ahead of the curve when it comes to the quality of work and team culture, so coming here was a very easy decision.

“The key attraction was joining a team that is genuinely committed to flexible working, allowing me to live in the South Island, while I work as part of a national practice with my Auckland and Wellington colleagues on some of the country’s most important employment cases,” says Ashleigh.

Meanwhile, Greg Mitchell joins our 70-strong Corporate practice as a specialist corporate and commercial lawyer with extensive experience in M&A, joint ventures, corporate governance, commercial contracts and overseas investment.

“I am pleased to be welcomed back into Simpson Grierson’s supportive environment and to have the opportunity to work alongside seasoned practitioners who are held in such high esteem in their respective fields.

“I look forward to making a valuable contribution to the firm and our clients, and getting involved in some of the most complex and challenging corporate and commercial legal matters in New Zealand,” says Greg.

Our corporate practice is highly rated and we’ve advised on many of the landmark transactions in New Zealand's corporate history. We’re consistently ranked as a New Zealand leader in the MergerMarket and Refinitiv league tables.

Chair Anne Callinan says: “Ashleigh and Greg bring strong experience, energy and fresh thinking as we focus on continuing to deliver excellent work for our clients across Aotearoa and around the world.

“We have a long history of welcoming home first-class lawyers from leading international firms, and of welcoming back alumni, and these appointments are testament to our firm’s excellent credentials, and our flexible workplace culture,” says Ms Callinan.
