James Caird

James is a partner in the firm's banking and finance department. He is a commercial litigator, with particular expertise in banking and finance litigation, and restructuring and insolvency litigation.

James advises on all aspects of restructuring, turnaround, and insolvency law. He acts for financial institutions, insolvency practitioners, directors, and creditors on both contentious and non–contentious matters. James regularly acts on complex restructurings, cross–border insolvencies, directors' duties claims, voidable transaction claims, asset-tracing and fraud claims, and security disputes.  

James also acts for parties in general corporate/commercial disputes, including shareholder disputes and disputes relating to limited partnerships, incorporated societies, and joint ventures. He is experienced in litigation-funded claims.

James regularly appears in court, in arbitrations, and other alternative dispute resolution processes.
