Donna Hurley

Donna is a leading real estate lawyer who advises clients on complex property transactions and issues.  She is a member of the firm's Board of Management.

She advises local government and central government clients on a range of issues with a focus on complex property and infrastructure projects. She also specialises in public works, property development, leasing, subdivision, and acquisitions and disposals of commercial property.

Donna advises clients on the acquisition and disposal of property, easements, roading, reserves, public works, and leasing. She has extensive experience in the local government sector and also provides advice on the Local Government Act 2002 and other local government related statutes.

Donna assists public sector clients with the acquisition and disposal of land under the Public Works Act, including offer back obligations under section 40 of the Act.

She also has extensive experience drafting Local Bills, commenting on Government legislation proposals, and assisting local authorities with the passage of legislation through Parliament.

Donna advises bp on all property issues related to subdivision, development and commercial leasing.

Donna adopts a pragmatic, practical approach to providing legal advice and works closely with her clients to understand their strategic drivers and objectives.

Donna is accredited by Land Information New Zealand to undertake Crown property work (All Legislation and Roading Actions).  She is also an accredited member of the Property Law Section, New Zealand Law Society.

Donna is an independent Board Member on the Property Institute of New Zealand Incorporated.
